Human Resources Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and passionate HR Manager who is best characterized by their integrity. Our perfect candidate will come in and help us with the creation and, consequentially, the management of a Human Resources department that covers HR duties that include but are not limited to: handling employee relations, leaves, ADA/FEHA, timekeeping, benefit administration, performance evaluation programs, succession planning, HR trainings, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, HR audits and surveys, VOE requests, and promoting First Capitol’s culture and company values. In addition to HR related duties, this individual will assist us with Operations related activities, including but limited to: working with third-party vendors on communications and network issues and improvements, handling all issues and improvements regarding facilities as well as working with building management to implements improvements, and providing insight regarding organizational strategy as we continue rapidly growing. Any experience within startups or tech is a big plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make First Capitol’s culture a reality through world class HR programs
  • Be responsible for the employee lifecycle including onboarding (including technology and equipment needs), training programs, and offboarding
  • Create and sustain diversity and inclusion initiatives within the company
  • Build our company growth-mindset through HR processes such as performance reviews and manager training development
  • Knowledgeable in all the standard HR programs such as compensation, wellness, benefits administration, reporting, and compliance
  • Provide ongoing strategic evaluation and recommendations to the CEO for improving organizational effectiveness
  • Direct management of operations, including management of facilities and property
  • Manage IT including relationships with outsourced IT services company, purchase of new equipment

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years in HR or related fields (PHR or SPHR a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Rapid growing startup experience
  • Passion for promoting culture, company values, and employee engagement programs
  • Experience optimizing employee satisfaction
  • Experience providing a safe place for employees to receive sage advice on issues ranging from employee conflicts to career guidance
  • Knowledge and understanding of California and federal employment law
  • Experience developing and managing employee feedback/performance reviews
  • Experience coaching new managers
  • Ability to write policies and procedures and document work processes
  • Must have excellent judgment, creative problem-solving skills, and be results-oriented
