We are looking for an experienced, professional, and passionate Controller to come and join the First Capitol team. The Controller will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning, budget management functions and maintaining the administrative and financial flow of the company. This position reports directly to the CEO and provides accurate and up to date accounting records while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Provide critical analysis and insight to the CEO
  • Provide support to the senior management team in setting and executing the strategic and tactical objectives of the organization
  • Ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions and reporting
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Supervise accounting employees and oversee daily operations of the accounting division
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts – works with the CEO to develop and carry out long-term financial goals and plans
  • Establish internal controls and audit procedures to ensure proper financial management
  • Manage the preparation of the month end report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses
  • Ensures that all tax returns and financial reports are filed in a timely manner
  • Establish a communications strategy that reinforces the company culture and effectively communicate priorities and accomplishments to the senior management team
  • Processing full cycle accounts payable and receivables
  • Issue, compile, sort and manage financial documents
  • Prep and audit incoming paperwork for billing and accounts payable/receivable
  • Update, verify and maintain accounting records
  • Ensure accuracy of all client billing
  • Ensure accurate input of vendor invoices and employee expense reports on a timely basis
  • Verify and process invoices to ensure that all payments are made in a timely manner
  • Organizing and maintaining expense receipts to be billed to clients
  • Process all incoming employee expense reports and credit card statements, ensuring that proper approvals have been obtained
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices on a monthly basis
  • Process monthly check runs and prepare payments for signature
  • Work with clients to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations
  • Interact with various levels of management to assist with monthly budgets
  • Ensures documents bring processed are included in the appropriate accounting period
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing and organizing


  • At least 6-8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Sage Intaact experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication, writing and research skills
  • Able to working on multiple projects at once with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Strong ability to solve problems and be resourceful
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Takes direction well
  • Able to handle any/all confidential information, issues and matters in a sensitive manner
  • Able to handle fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
